Introducing: APSA Preprints | Launching August 2019

Launching at the 2019 APSA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, APSA Preprints is a free-to-access pre-publication platform dedicated to early research outputs in political science and related disciplines, and developed through the collaboration of the American Political Science Association and Cambridge University Press

The service will be the first of its kind to be hosted on Cambridge University Press’s developing open research platform. It will make the latest research and data freely available with a focus on rapid turnaround times (3-5 business days) for submission, giving researchers and members of the wider public an early window into academic insights and analysis.  Authors will be able to deposit their papers for free and will retain copyright to their work.  Submissions will not be peer reviewed.

APSA Preprints help create a more effective and collaborative research cycle in political science. It will connect the Association’s conference papers and other early research outputs with the submission, peer review and production process of APSA’s leading stable of journals including American Political Science Review, Perspectives on Politics, and PS: Political Science & Politics.

Authors and readers will benefit from a range of benefits, including comprehensive article-level metrics and the latest social sharing commenting and discussion tools, as well as the powerful search and discovery features already in place on Cambridge Core, the Press’s platform for its academic books and journals.

Get Involved

There is an opportunity to submit your work prior to the official launch. You will be able to post your work during the final development stage from late May 2019, and help test and trial this new initiative. Submissions of political science research are welcomed from APSA members and non-members both from within and outside the political science community.
