International Collaboration (Section 48)

The International Collaboration (IC) Section of the American Political Science Association works to promote and disseminate research in and teaching of all facets of international collaboration and to encourage the interchange of ideas about international collaboration within the IC Section, and with our disciplines, practitioners, and interested persons.

As a Section, we define "International Collaboration" broadly as attempts by states and non-state actors (including international organizations and non-governmental organizations) to craft joint solutions to international challenges. In the realm of international security, this includes alliances, collective security organizations, and peacekeeping missions. In the realm of international political economy, this includes foreign aid and the promotion of trade, finance, and investment cooperation. Finally, this includes the international protection of human rights and the environment, as well as the development of international law and courts.

In accordance with APSA's priority of achieving diversity and inclusion in political science, the International Collaboration Section is committed to promoting demographic, substantive, intellectual, pedagogical, methodological, and institutional diversity.
