The International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO), is an independent, international research institution founded in 1959. PRIO conducts research within four main themes: Conditions of War and Peace, Ethics, Norms and Identities, Foreign and Security Policies and Conflict Resoultion and Peacebuilding .The institute also publishes a book series and two international journals. PRIO has an international staff of about 60 people.
