The association was founded in 1966 and currently has some 330 members. Their members include scholars, educators, publicists, journalists and others, all committed to promoting political science in public life. CPSA is recognised as a civil society organisation operating in the public interest of the Republic of Croatia. The association views its mission as one of promoting the development of political science as a distinct discipline and improving research in the field and its application for the purpose of nourishing democracy. Their main activities include the organisation of symposia, conferences and workshops, and most importantly, the Croatian Political Science Annual Meetings, held in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb.
