Renata Barreto-Montenegro is a graduate of Reed College, class of 2013. She majored in international and comparative policy studies and political science. She wrote her thesis on the property rights of Peruvian squatters in major cities and rural areas. She attended the APSA Ralph Bunche Summer Institute in 2012 and presented her research, which focuses on race, ethnicity, immigrant incorporation, and transnational networks, at the Southern Political Science Association (SPSA) Annual Meeting. Barreto-Montenegro is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
