Introducing APSA Preprints

APSA Preprints is an open access pre-publication platform dedicated to early research outputs in political science and related disciplines. The site, a collaboration between the American Political Science Association and Cambridge University Press, was formally launched at the 2019 APSA Annual Meeting.

 

APSA Preprints is the first of its kind to be hosted on Cambridge University Press’s developing open research platform. It makes the latest research and data freely available to everyone with an internet connection with a rapid turnaround time (3-5 business days) for submission, giving researchers and members of the wider public an early window into academic insights and analysis. Authors can deposit their papers for free and retain copyright to their work. Submissions are not peer reviewed.

What does APSA Preprints do?

Authors and readers enjoy a range of benefits, including comprehensive article-level metrics, the latest social sharing, commenting, and discussion tools, and the powerful search and discovery features already in place on Cambridge Core, the press’s innovative platform for academic books and journals.


APSA Preprints creates a more effective and collaborative research cycle in political science. As the platform evolves, it will eventually connect the association’s conference papers and other early research outputs with the submission, peer review and production processes of APSA’s leading stable of journals, including the American Political Science Review, Perspectives on Politics, and PS: Political Science & Politics.
