Dear Colleagues:

We have several important decisions to make this year during our business meeting in Toronto. First, a revision to our bylaws providing for a process to choose and evaluate new editors for our section journal, Politics & Religion. These revisions were proposed by an ad hoc by-laws revision committee and approved by the Executive Committee. The full by-laws are posted below, please pay special attention to Section 5, paragraph F. Second, the Executive Committee has approved a proposal from the Treasurer to raise section dues by $4/year. This would mean regular members will pay $28 and student members will pay $19. The full proposal outlines the rationale behind the increase.

Please think about these issues, and be ready to vote on them in September. Also, please feel free to email me (conger@iastate.edu) if you have any questions or comments about either proposal.

Thanks,

Kim Conger
R&P Section Chair
