Activity Funding Sources
Many activities chapters undertake require money, and there are several possible sources for it:
- Dues: Chapter members may be charged dues, over and above the national initiation fee, which are deposited in the checking account used for such things as refreshments at meetings and receptions.
- Grants Competition: Chapters may seek support for big projects through the annual Chapter Activity Grants Competition.
- Department Contributions: The political science department, student activity office, or other campus organization may contribute to chapter funds and/or activities.
- Fundraising Activities: Chapters can organize fundraising events such as car washes.
- Admission Charges: Admission may be charged to cover the cost of certain kinds of activities such as banquets.
