Chapter Organization and Management

Whether a chapter is very active or barely active, whether the student officers take responsibility for chapter affairs or the Chapter Advisor does it all, the two most important organizing tools for Pi Sigma Alpha chapters are a Pi Sigma Alpha file folder and the information found on this website.
The File Folder
The Pi Sigma Alpha file folder should be the place where all records of chapter activities are kept, including bylaws, initiation rituals, copies of the lists of new initiates, bank statements, and paperwork related to any projects the chapter undertakes. And all these records should stay in the department, either with the department secretary or the Chapter Advisor. Even the most organized PSA chapter President will have a lot on his or her mind at graduation time and may forget to pass the chapter's paperwork along to the incoming officers.
If the files and the handbook have a permanent home in the department, a new officer can see immediately what has been done and what must be done. If the chapter experiences a slump, good records will make it much easier at least to keep initiating new members and when interest surges again the chapter will have a foundation on which to rebuild itself.
The Website
The website provides basic information and up-to-date notices from the National Office about national programs and awards and changes in administrative procedures, as well as order forms for certificates, jewelry, medallions and mugs.
