2008 Award Winners:

The APSA Section on Political Organizations and Parties selects annual awards for lifetime achievement in the field, outstanding book and article awards, an emerging scholar awards, and a best paper at the POP panels award. We are proud to announce the 2008 award winners, with our thanks to the faculty selection committees (the list of past awards).

Samuel J. Eldersveld Career Achievement Award
Honoring a scholar whose lifetime professional work has made an outstanding contribution to the field.

2008 John Aldrich, Duke University

Leon D. Epstein Outstanding Book Award
Honoring a book of outstanding and lasting significance in the field.

2008 Dara Strolovitch, University of Minnesota
Affirmative Advocacy. Race, Class, and Gender in Interest Group Politics (Chicago University Press, 2007).

Jack Walker Outstanding Article Award
Honoring an article or published paper of unusual significance and importance to the field.

2008 James Adams and Samuel Merrill III. 2006. "Why Small, Centrist Third Parties Motivate Policy Divergence by Major Parties." American Political Science Review 100 (August).

Emerging Scholars Award
For significant research by a scholar receiving his or her doctorate within the past five years.
