Carl Albert Center, University of Oklahoma This entire issue of the APSA Legislative Studies Section Newsletter, as well as the January 1998 issue, can now be accessed electronically on the new LSS Home Page located at http://www.apsanet.org/~lss/. We want to thank Jonathan Mott for the design and maintenance of this new Home Page. Now that the LSS Home Page is fully operational, we propose that the sections on "Papers Presented" and "Journal Articles" be confined to the Home Page and not be included in the printed copies that are mailed to LSS members. This will bring us closer to the goal of publishing the newsletter within the budget provided by LSS. It is anticipated that these lists of "Papers Presented" and "Journal Articles" could be updated on the Home Page quarterly, thus providing members with lists that would be more up-to-date than the semiannual newsletter. If you have opinions one way or another regarding this proposal, we hope you will bring them to the annual business meeting of LSS on September 4 at 5:30 p.m. Looking to the future, we would like to consider interactive possibilities, such as a chat room (for members only) that would be attached to the Home Page, perhaps focusing on a posted paper or research note. Watch for announcements regarding this and other news about the Home Page. As these projects continue, we welcome comment and suggestions from the membership. Please feel free to contact me by e-mail: rpeters@ou.edu. Effective August 15, Lucinda Simon Rosenthal will replace Allen Hertzke
at the Carl Albert Center and as a co-editor of the LSS Newsletter.
Cindy is already a member of the political science faculty at the University
of Oklahoma and is also a former Carl Albert Fellow. Allen will be transferring
his appointment to the Political Science Department, there to pursue his
many research interests.
