As the new
chair of the Legislative Studies Section, I would like to thank my
predecessor, David Mayhew, for leaving the LSS in such good shape for my
two-year term. Frances Lee, the LSS secretary-treasurer, continues
to give us good financial reports at our annual meetings; it is good
news (especially for me) that she continues to serve in that
position. Nicol Rae did a wonderful job as program chair for the
APSA convention in Philadelphia; he put together so many interesting
panels that there were hard choices to make as to which one to attend in
many of the time slots. We also owe thanks to the 15 people who
served on our five prize committees. |
