Organized Section Counts

Organized Section Membership Counts

As of Friday, May 25, 2012

The Committee on Organized Sections oversees policies related to organized sections and monitors section size.

If a section membership falls below 250 members for four consecutive quarters the Committee on Organized Sections will notify the section that they will not be included as part of the next official program committee of the annual meeting then forming (for example, if notified in the summer of 2013, a section would be excluded from the 2014 Program Committee). The section typically has a year to reach the 250 member level, and will be listed on the APSA Membership Renewal form with an asterisk indicating the threshold is below the minimum number.

If the section does not reach 250 members in any quarter during the year, it will be required to disband, and can merge with another section, become a related group, or cease to function.
