Job Candidate Questions to Ask (JCQ) Program
JCQ Program

Printer-friendly format

The Job Candidate Questions to Ask (JCQ) Program (formerly the Registration Program) invites political science departments to "register," thereby certifying that they have considered issues affecting the professional development of faculty and are prepared to discuss with potential faculty members topics such as tenure, renewal and annual reviews, research support, teaching support, service activities, and mentoring activities in the department.

APSA has developed a set of specified questions --  Job Candidate Questions to Ask, that participating departments have volunteered to answer for all inquiring job candidates.

APSA established this voluntary program, along with the Graduate Student Questions to Ask (GSQ) Program, for departments in an effort to enhance the training and professional development of doctoral students and faculty. This programs encourage political science departments to consider the issues facing individuals in the discipline who are on or preparing for the job market. The programs also provide students and new faculty a means to obtain valuable information to enhance their educational and professional experiences.

All departments are invited to register regardless of whether they are currently recruiting to fill a job opening. To participate in the JCQ Program, complete the form below.
