Resources By Interest
General Resources
The National Mentoring Partnership: http://www.mentoring.org This site is aimed at a large variety of mentoring audiences and offers many useful ideas for anyone giving or receiving mentoring. It includes great definitions of mentoring as well as advice for mentors and mentees on building the relationship. The toolkit can be found by clicking on "become a better mentor," then "learn to mentor," then "course introduction." The site has many other useful tidbits-though a little difficult to navigate--so it is advisable to look around the site
Running a Mentoring Program: http://www.mentoring.org/run_a_program/run_a_program.adp Gives tips and suggestions on creating and managing an effective mentoring program. Helps you network with other providers who are operating mentoring programs similar to yours; find mentoring programs, products, experts, and research that will assist you in meeting your program's unique needs; determine best practices for building a sound mentoring program; and pinpoint underlying (and often hidden) problems within your mentoring program that may block your effectiveness.
Mentor Program Tips: http://www.mentors.ca/mentortips.html Provides tips, strategies, and support for the creation of successful mentor programs. Each month new information culled from the Peer Resources Network discussion list is added to this section.
