Graduate Students Questions to Ask (GSQ) Program The Graduate Student Questions to Ask (GSQ) Program (formerly the Rostering Program) invites political science doctoral departments to voluntarily indicate their willingness to answer specified questions from inquiring students concerning the goals of the doctoral program, how they prepare students for careers, and what they do to facilitate the placement of students in jobs. In addition, departments are asked to make public their aggregate data on applications, admissions, and the data on doctoral student placement which is submitted to APSA in its annual surveys of departments. This information is only aggregate data about the department and does not identify individual faculty members or graduate students. APSA established this voluntary program, along with the Job Candidates Questions to Ask (JCQ) Program, for departments in an effort to enhance the training and professional development of doctoral students and faculty. This programs encourage political science departments to consider the issues facing individuals in the discipline who are on or preparing for the job market. The programs also provide students and new faculty a means to obtain valuable information to enhance their educational and professional experiences. All Ph.D. departments are encouraged to join in the GSQ Program by completing the form below.
