Political Science Education The purpose of this section is to promote exemplary undergraduate teaching within the political science discipline. The section is especially dedicated to increasing the use of innovative teaching methods, particularly those rooted in experience (internships, service learning, simulations, and study abroad). 2007 - 2008 Officers Awards The Best Presentation Award is given for the best presentation (be it in a paper, poster, or roundtable format) delivered in a session sponsored by the Undergraduate Education Section at the Annual Meeting. Nominations are due to David Rankin, Award Committee Chair at rankin@fredonia.edu by May 30, 2008.

Rankin, State University of New York, Fredonia Jeffrey Bernstein, Eastern Michigan University The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a person whose lifetime contribution to political science have had a significant impact on undergraduate education. The McGraw-Hill Award for Scholarship and Teaching on Civic Engagement in Political Science recognizes political scientists who advance civic engagment through the study of engagement and participation. The award seeks to honor a wide range of unique and new approaches to the scholarship and teaching of civic engagement, but in particular scholars who raise political awareness, involvement, and participation of undergraduate students. Nominations can be made by anyone, although self-nominations will not be accepted. Award winners will be chosen by a committee apointed by the Chair of the Undergraduate Education section of the American Political Science Association on behalf of McGraw-Hill. The award carries a smaill cash stipend and the winner will be announced at the annual Awards Reception at the American Political Science Association Annual Meeting.
