Women in International Security (WIIS) will hold its 19th Annual Summer Symposium for Graduate Students in International Affairs from June 8-13, 2008, at Georgetown University.

The Symposium is an intensive six-day program in Washington, DC comprising of seminars on security issues with leading policy experts, career development workshops, a crisis simulation, student research presentations, and unique networking opportunities. There is a competitive application process through which participants are selected. Approximately thirty U.S. and international students are selected to participate each year.

Eligibility

Each year WIIS accepts applications from graduate students currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral degree program in international relations, political science, history, security studies, public policy, conflict resolution, law, relevant sciences, or other fields related to international affairs.

Accommodation & Fees

Participants are housed at Georgetown University. WIIS covers the costs for accommodation, most meals, and the program itself. There is a registration fee of $125 for accepted participants, and limited fellowships are available for travel.
