Dates: August 25-27 2008
Deadlines: First: January 15, 2008, Next: March 1, 2008
Location: Barcelona, Spain Dates

The online submission system for panels and papers is now available at: http://www.ecpr.org.uk/conference/.

The conference format will consist of open themed panels, roundtables and lectures. Approximately 20-25 sections will be offered (depending on the number of applications received). Each section should contain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 panels. For further information on the conference schedule, please see the day by day timetable.

Proposals to organise panels:
(i) Who may organise a panel?
Any graduate student or scholar who is in the early stages of their academic career may propose a panel. Participants in panels may be from both ECPR and non-ECPR institutions. Depending on the proposals received, the academic convenors will group panels into coherent sections.

(ii) What information should the proposal include?
Title of the panel, an abstract [maximum 250 words], details of all panel participants (up to a maximum of 6 paper givers), including name, institutional affiliation, email address, paper title, outline of paper [maximum 250 words] plus details of the panel chair(s) and discussant(s) where applicable. You should also select up to 5 keywords when submitting your proposal so that the academic convenors can group them into logical sections.

Note: All panels MUST have a panel chair assigned in order to be submitted. Panels that are proposed without a panel chair will not be accepted.

If a panel is proposed with less than 6 papers, the Academic Convenors reserve the right to include additional papers on similar topics.

All proposals to organise panels should be submitted via the online submission system at: Panel Proposal Form. There will be 2 deadlines for applications: the deadline for the first round is 15 January 2008 and the deadline for the second round is 1 March 2008. Please submit your proposals as early as possible. Your chances of being accepted are greater if you apply by the first deadline.

Deadlines

There will be 2 deadlines for applications: the deadline for the first round is 15 January 2008 and the deadline for the second round is 1 March 2008. Please submit your proposals as early as possible. Your chances of being accepted are greater if you apply by the first deadline.

The academic convenors will assess all proposals and confirm the academic programme during April 2008.

Changes to panel information after acceptance Panel chairs should send any changes and updates of paper givers and paper titles to the ECPR Central Services. Minor revisions may be made to the programme up until 1 July 2008. After this date, any changes cannot be included in the final programme, although the website will be continually updated.

Scheduling of panels and papers
Panel times will be assigned during May 2008. Please note that once the timetable has been decided, no changes can be made under any circumstances.

Distribution of papers
Papers will be posted on the ECPR web site as they are received. It is the responsibility of the paper giver to ensure that his/her paper is circulated to the chair and discussant in the panel. Panel chairs must therefore ensure that full contact details are provided for all panel participants.

Please note that as with all ECPR events, the working language is English and all proposals and full papers should therefore be submitted and presented in English.

Need panel participants?

If you would like to propose a panel, but do not have enough participants, please send your details in an email to ecpr@essex.ac.uk. We will add the panel information to our website at: http://www.ecpr.org.uk/conference/seek_papers.html and prospective
participants can contact you directly.
