One distinguishing feature of our fellowship is the long-term record kept by former Fellows of their congressional working experience. No other source provides such a candid glimpse into the working atmosphere of an office. These confidential assessments assist incoming Fellows in making decisions about which offices would be most appropriate to their professional goals and personal styles.

Each individual's evaluation provides a frank assessment of the following:

• the search process;
• the office assignment;
• his or her legislative responsibilities;
• the Member's principal concerns;
• the office structure and environment; and
• his or her greatest accomplishments and disappointments;

• the structure of the fellowship;
• the schedule and format of outside enrichment opportunities;
• the helpfulness of fellowship staff; and
• the effectiveness of the APSA work space and resources.

Please note that APSA reserves the right to withhold final stipend checks from political scientist and journalist Fellows should they fail to submit their evaluations by the annual Closing Reception. For more information, please see the Terms and Conditions of the fellowship.
