APSA Mentoring Program

Find an APSA Mentor: APSA recognizes the importance of mentoring in career and professional development. APSA administers a mentoring process to connect interested graduate students and junior faculty with political scientists who have made themselves available as mentors. Other mentoring resources.

The 2013 APSA Graduate School Information Fair
APSA is hosting the third annual Graduate School Information Fair on August 31st, at the 2013 Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Representatives from political science graduate programs around the country will be on hand to share information and answer questions about their political science programs and course offering to undergraduate students from Chicago and the surrounding areas. For more information, email grad@apsanet.org.

Applying for Graduate School
Asking the right questions when you meet with prospective departments is critical to choosing the right graduate program for you. APSA has created a list of questions and has encouraged departments to be willing to answer these questions. Find and Select a Graduate Program
In addition to articles about getting into and succeeding in graduate school, www.phds.org has tools to help you:

• find a Masters or Ph.D. program in Political Science (and related areas)
• find out how Ph.D. programs in Political Science are ranked according to your selected criteria (with data gathered from the National Science Foundation, the National Research Council, and the National Center for Education Statistics)

Minority Student Recruitment Program (MSRP)
APSA established the Minority Student Recruitment Program (MSRP, formerly MID) as part of its efforts to advance the benefits of diversity within the political science profession by putting graduate programs in touch with students from diverse backgrounds.
