The Deutsche Vereinigung  Politische Wissenschaft (DVPW), originated in February 1951, and has approximately 1,400 members. The DVPW functions as a recognized non-profit association.  Its task is the promotion of development in the research and theory of political science as well as their application in practice. For this purpose, the association organizes symposiums, public lectures and trade conferences of its sections, working groups, Ad-hoc and regional committees.
