Location: The Omni Hotel, New Haven, CT
Those who have experienced ACTC panels with their short papers (five pages, double-spaced), centered on core texts, where real discussions about the liberal arts take place around seminar tables, with colleagues from one's own and other disciplines have found ACTC to be one of the most reward conferences they attend all year. ACTC believes that this year's theme, The Quest for Excellence: Liberal Arts and Core Texts, will engage you in serious discussions about what ideas, questions, books, arts and sciences, associations and institutions, religions, cultures, and forms of education scholars are using to build excellence into undergraduate education in North America and overseas through the liberal arts.
Last year ACTC had their largest conference ever and expect no less this year. ACTC still offers the six fine plenary meals and many plenary speeches. New Haven is at the end of a commuter line from New York City. But, most of all, ACTC offer liberal arts conversations about ideas, texts, teaching, and programs. Submit a short proposal and register through the website at www.coretexts.org.
