2013 APSA Ralph Bunche Summer Institute Application Information
*Program Update: The 2013 APSA RBSI Program is canceled
The 2013 RBSI program was awaiting funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), however the NSF is currently unable to release the 2013 funds because of the restrictions in the recently passed Coburn amendment, which limits funding to the NSF political science program to projects/programs that are found to be in the economic interest of the United States or related to the national defense of the United States. (The RBSI program had been jointly sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Duke University, and the American Political Science Association).

Eligibility The program targets students from racial/ethnic groups that are significantly underrepresented in science in the United States, e.g. African American, Latino/a, Native American, and Pacific Island students. All students who are members of these groups, or who are interested in broadening participation in political science by students from underrepresented minority populations and pursuing scholarship on issues affecting under-represented groups, are eligible to apply. Application Form and Process The application cycle has closed. Participants in the Ralph Bunche Summer Institute are drawn from a competitive national applicant pool. The RBSI Selection Committee reviews applications and will make decisions during the month of February. Applicants will be informed of their status via email. Applicants should submit the following required information:
