Evaluation of the Program

One of the critical functions of the Task Force will be to provide feedback on the kind of mentoring that is most effective, the groups that should be targeted, and whether a more permanent structure is required/useful. This will give us valuable information about what the needs are for mentoring and how best to respond as an institution.

As part of that process, we might go online with some questions, e.g., What do you want most to achieve from mentoring, personal, professional, or substantive scholarly advice? How can we work best to integrate political scientists from outside academia into a mentoring program? What suggestions can we gain from other mentoring programs?

Leonie Huddy has agreed to be in charge of this evaluation, which should include some kind of survey of participants. Volunteers interested in participating in this part of the program should contact Huddy directly at leonie.huddy@sunysb.edu).
