4: Formal Political Theory

This division welcomes papers that develop mathematical models using tools from game theory, social choice theory, agent-based, and behavioral approaches. Papers that test models are also suitable for this division. Of particular interest are papers that apply formal models to new topics, as well as papers that analyze interactions between politics, economics, and public policy, in line with the 2010 conference theme "The Politics of Hard Times."
