Publius: The Journal of Federalism
Carol S. Weissert, cweisser@fsu.edu (Florida State University) Federalism’s Impact on Women’s Politics Papers are encouraged to engage and enlarge this small but growing literature on the impact of federalism on women’s politics. Of particular interest are comparative analyses which identify the characteristics of federations and their impact on women. Do the multiple decision making venues in federations promote or disadvantage women? What elements in the constitution and legal systems help and what harm women’s objectives? Are there differences among federations? Are women advantaged in asymmetric rather than symmetric unions? Are there differences between “new” and “old” federations? Scholars on feminism, institutions and federalism are welcome to participate in this look at federalism’s impact on women’s politics. |
