The Iberian Politics Related Group invites proposals for papers addressing any aspect of representation and renewal in Spain and Portugal. Topics can include, but are not restricted to, ways of organizing representation within and through political parties, aspects of direct democracy, candidate selection, multilevel governance, relations between the legislature and executive, representation through non-party channels, such as interest associations, civil society, and groups representing underrepresented populations, such as immigrants. Papers that address movements criticizing the lack of representation in Iberian politics are also invited. We welcome any methodological approach. Papers may focus on just one Iberian country, compare both Iberian countries, or situate Spain or Portugal in a larger comparative context.
