CGOTS invites paper and panel proposals on Taiwan’s domestic politics and foreign relations that are consistent with (but not limited to) the conference theme. How does the global economic crisis influence Taiwan’s democracy, political economy, national identity, or international relations? We especially encourage submissions that address the contribution of Taiwan Studies to the broader political science literature, use Taiwan as a case for theory development, or compare Taiwan with other countries. How can the field of political science learn from the study of Taiwan? How can the study of Taiwan advance political science theory? What can we learn from comparative studies that have Taiwan as a case? Also welcome are proposals on other important aspects of Taiwan politics.
