If you do not have a login, click hereIn relation to the APSA’s 2010 congress main theme, “The Politics of Hard Times:  Citizens, Nations, and the International System under Economic Stress”, CPS invites paper proposals on political mobilization in times of global crisis. We are looking for papers that consider the mobilization of voters and activists by political groups and parties that campaign on a populist agenda in response to the economic crisis. To what extent do crisis contribute to the creation of specific new organizations? Has the economic crisis benefited already existing populist parties? What has been the response of other established political parties. To what extent can mainstream organizations capitalize on a crisis? How do they use the critical context to mobilize supporters? Who are the targets of their efforts? How successful are they?

Please submit your paper proposals online through APSA, mentioning CPS and send a copy of your proposal to florence.faucher-king@vanderbilt.edu.
