The Political Studies Association of Ireland (PSAI) is the professional organisation for those teaching and researching politics in Ireland. The PSAI annual conference will be hosted in 2008 by the School of Political Science and Sociology at NUI, Galway. This year the conference will highlight the theme of the politics of peace and conflict and we particularly encourage paper proposals in this area.

Paper and panel proposals are welcome in all areas of politics and international relations, not just in the area of Irish politics, including, but not limited to:

·     Political theory

·     Political parties and elections

·     Government and policy making

·     Peace and Conflict studies

·     Local government

·     International relations

·     Political communications

·     Politics and the Law

Submitting a Proposal
Please forward an abstract of no more than 300 words as a Word attachment, together with an email stating the title of your paper, institutional affiliation and contact details.

Before submitting a paper proposal you might want to consider submitting your paper as part of a panel, either by contacting colleagues in your area or contacting the appropriate PSAI specialist group (further information at www.psai.ie). Panel proposals must include abstracts for each paper. Whether you submit individually or as part of a panel we will make every effort to include your paper in an appropriate session.
