The Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting convenes a diverse group of approximately 1,000 world leaders to examine today's most pressing global challenges and transform that awareness into tangible commitments to action. The 2008 Annual Meeting will take place in New York from September 24-26, 2008. Participants will include current and former heads of state, top business executives, preeminent scholars, and representatives of key non-governmental organizations working together for a common cause. The program for the 2008 Annual Meeting will concentrate on challenges and opportunities in four focus areas: education, energy & climate change, global health and poverty alleviation.

The meeting schedule will include a combination of working sessions for each of CGI focus areas, as well as several plenary sessions that will address broader issues. These sessions will provide members with an opportunity to interact with experts, collaborate with other members who share common objectives, and ultimately, initiate a commitment to action that best matches their interests and resources. Each partnership forged and each commitment made can have a direct and measurable impact on people across our planet for generations to come.
