The purpose of this section is to encourage the study of religions and politics by political scientists including issues of church and state, law, morality, political behavior, social justice, and the contributions of faith to political understanding.

Awards
The Aaron Wildavsky Dissertation Award is given for the best dissertation on religion and politics successfully defended in 2007 and 2008. Please direct a copy of each nominated dissertation to each committee member by February 15, 2009.

The Paul J. Weber Award is given for the best paper dealing with religion and politics presented at the 2007 APSA Annual Meeting. Nominations are made by panel chairs and discussants and must be submitted to the Committee Chair by February 1, 2009.

The Hubert Morken Award is given for the best publication dealing with religion and politics published during 2006 and 2007. This is a biennial award to be awarded at the 2009 APSA meeting. Please direct one copy of each nominated publication to each committee member by September 30, 2008.
