Social Science Research Center (WZB), Berlin

Printer-friendly format

Date: 29 March, 2008
Call for Papers Deadline: 15 November, 2008

In recent years, theory and empirical research in Political Science and in Economics have made major progress in identifying and analyzing the causes and consequences of conflict. In view of this progress, Economics of Governance invites contributions on "Causes and Consequences of Conflict" for a special issue on this topic.

The issue will be edited jointly by Johannes Münster (WZB and Free University of Berlin) and Stergios Skaperdas (UC Irvine). Contributions will be subject to a standard refereeing process.

In 2006, the journal published a special issue on related topics. This issue is available at http://www.springerlink.com/content/p15783r04683/.

On March 29, 2008 the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB) will host a conference organized by Kai A. Konrad, Johannes Münster, and Stergios Skaperdas. Papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the special issue. Presenters of papers will be reimbursed for travel (APEX fare) and accommodation according to standard rules. The workshop will bring together a group of specialists working on conflict, both from Political Science and Economics, for a weekend in Berlin, Germany.

Submission should be send by email to muenster@wzb.eu before 15 November 2007. Acceptance notification for the conference will be provided by 15 December 2007. After the conference, all papers will be subject to a standard refereeing process for inclusion in the special issue.

Please feel free to forward the call for papers to anyone who might be interested.
