FY 2008 Funding Opportunities at the Institute of Education Sciences

The Institute of Education Sciences has now begun its research grant competitions for FY 2008. Within IES, the National Center for Education Research is conducting one research competition (84.305A Education Research Grants) that encompasses two topic areas that may be of interest to you: Education Leadership (<http://ies.ed.gov/ncer/projects/edleadership/>) and Education Policy, Finance, and Systems (<http://ies.ed.gov/ncer/projects/edpolicy>).

Other topic areas within the Education Research Grants Request for Applications include: Reading and Writing; Mathematics and Science Education; Teacher Quality; Interventions for Struggling Adolescent and Adult Readers; Cognition and Student Learning; High School Reform; Postsecondary Education; Early Childhood Programs and Policies; Education Technology; and Social and Behavioral Context for Academic Learning.

For FY 2008, there is still time for you to apply for the November 1, 2007 deadline. Letters of Intent are optional. If you have missed the September 6, 2007 Letter of Intent deadline for the November 1, 2007 competition, you can still apply for funding.

In addition, IES invites applications for its predoctoral and postdoctoral research training programs and for two new National Research and Development Centers: (a) the National Research and Development Center on Cognition and Science Instruction, and (b) the National Research and Development Center on Instructional Technology.
