CALL FOR PAPERS
A workshop session entitled "Democracy and the Internet" will be held as part of the 2008 International Society for the Study of European Ideas Conference (ISSEI) at the University of Helsinki.
We would like to invite you to submit a paper proposal for this workshop. Fuller details of our workshop can be found at http://issei2008.haifa.ac.il as well as further details about the ISSEI conference. ISSEI conducts a bi-annual conference with five thematic strands and dozens of workshops in each strand. Our workshop "Democracy and the Internet" appears within thematic strand 2: Economics, Politics, Law.
As you know, the Internet and other new ICTs are having a profound effect on governance and citizenship throughout the world. This workshop seeks to explore a number of issues regarding the Internet and democratic government/citizenship.
Review of all proposed papers will begin August 30, 2007 with authors being notified of acceptance/rejection on September 30, 2007. Please send via e-mail attachment a 300 word abstract of your proposed paper, along with all of your contact information, to either of us no later than August 30, 2007.
