Employers: How to Access eJobs
|
 |
EMPLOYERS: You must have a DSPonline login to access eJobs. All employers enter eJobs through the DSPonline screen. Use the login boxes above to login to DSPonline. On the DSPonline screen, click on the eJobs link that can be found in the boxes on the right-hand column of the DSPonline screen.

What if my department/institution doesn't have a DSPonline login or I don't know what it is? Click here to begin the process of finding or acquiring a department/institution login. (Employment agencies: you must use the client's DSPonline login. Contact the client for the login information.) Once you've obtained the login information you can follow the procedure shown above.
What if my department/institution is a non-member and we apply for membership today? Can we get free access to this service today? No. Although you will be able to access the system to post a job immediately, you will be billed for that posting. For membership, your credit card will processed in the first 24 hours and you will be added to the system within 4-5 business days, at which time you will gain free access to the eJobs system.
| NOTE: Department of Labor Requirements for Non-U.S. Citizen Hires
Please note that according to the Code of Federal Regulations recruiting and documentation procedures for hiring college and university teachers who are not citizens of the United States (see 20 CFR 656.18), the Department of Labor requires that "a copy of at least one advertisement for the job opportunity placed in a national professional journal, giving the name and the date(s) of publication; and which states the job title, duties, and requirements."
While posting on the APSA eJobs system reaches virtually the entire political science scholarly community and reaches thousands of qualified applicants, it does not alone meet the Department of Labor requirement. Employers who expect to review applications from non-U.S. citizens should also follow the Department of Labor directive by posting the ad in a national professional journal.
APSA has reported its concerns to the Department of Labor and has asked for future changes to the regulations. Please contact Michael Brintnall at brintnall@apsanet.org if you have questions.
