Employers: How to Access eJobs
APSA Departmental Service Program (DSP) member employers may post jobs and search for candidates free of charge. Nonmember employers can post jobs for a fee. Click here for nonmember fees. All employers, regardless of whether they are DSP members or nonmembers, must have a DSPonline login to access eJobs. All employers enter eJobs through the DSPonline screen. Use your DSP login and the login boxes above to login to DSPonline.
To access ejobs on DSPonline: On the DSPonline screen, click on the "Submit a job listing; search and review CVs" link. DSP member institutions will find this link in the right-hand column under "Members Only" and nonmember institutions will find it in the left-hand column under "Resources."
What if my department/institution doesn't have a DSPonline login or I don't know what it is? Click here to begin the process to find or acquire a department/institution login. (Employment agencies: you must use the client's DSPonline login. Contact the client for the login information.)
What if my department/institution is a non-member and we apply for membership today? Can we get free access to this service today? Yes. As soon as you join DSP you can post all of your job listings free of charge.
| NOTE: Department of Labor Requirements for Non-U.S. Citizen Hires
Please note that according to the Code of Federal Regulations recruiting and documentation procedures for hiring college and university teachers who are not citizens of the United States (see 20 CFR 656.18), the Department of Labor requires that "a copy of at least one advertisement for the job opportunity placed in a national professional journal, giving the name and the date(s) of publication; and which states the job title, duties, and requirements."
While posting on the APSA eJobs system reaches virtually the entire political science scholarly community and reaches thousands of qualified applicants, it does not alone meet the Department of Labor requirement. Employers who expect to review applications from non-U.S. citizens should also follow the Department of Labor directive by posting the ad in a national professional journal.
APSA does print the eJobs database job listings in a supplement to APSA's national professional journal PS: Political Science & Politics. The supplement accompanies PS each quarter (January, April, July and October) and includes job listings, upcoming conferences, tables of contents of forthcoming APSA journals, and other news in the profession. This publication can help U.S. employers meet Department of Labor requirements for hiring of non-US citizens for academic jobs.
The print listing is free of charge to employers who post job listings on eJobs. Though we expect nearly all the job listings to appear in at least one issue of the supplement (the average listing duration is 3.5 months), employers should follow the schedule below to be sure their listing appears in print.
