First-Time Participants and International Attendees
Events to Consider

Printer-friendly format

Attending the APSA conference for the first time or attending from overseas can seem somewhat overwhelming.  We'd like to suggest some events that may help you "break the ice" and some programs that first-timers and international attendees may find interesting.

Graduate Student Happy Hour
Thursday, August 28
Meet and mingle with APSA elected officers, other political scientists, and fellow graduate students from around the country and the world.

Other Programs of Interest

  • Related Groups Events - get to know the APSA's affiliated groups
  • Short Courses - half- or full-day sessions that provide opportunities for APSA attendees to enhance their knowledge and to reinvigorate teaching and research skills.
  • Working Groups - an opportunity to join with others who are interested in the same topic to share observations and ideas
