About Poster Sessions
Poster sessions provide informal opportunities for political scientists to present data and conduct extended discussions of their research with interested colleagues, using illustrative materials placed on a poster.

Poster sessions will be held on-site at the same time as panel sessions.  Please check back in June for the schedule and location.

Poster Setup Instructions
Poster board assignments will be provided to all poster presenters in July. APSA provides the following for your poster:

  • Poster display area, 8' long by 4' tall
  • Draped table, 6' in length for handouts
  • Push pins

Schedule

Since APSA began poster sessions in 1996, we have received many positive comments, including the suggestion to leave posters set up for longer periods of time. Because poster sessions are scheduled each morning and afternoon, we ask that presenters please adhere to the following schedule:

Poster sessions beginning at 10:15 AM:

  • Set-up begins at 9:30 AM
  • Sessions run from 10:15 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Presenters should be available to discuss research with attendees during this time.
  • Dismantle by 12:45 PM**

Poster sessions beginning at 2:00 PM:

  • Set-up begins at 12:45 PM
  • Sessions run from 2:00 PM  to 3:45 PM
  • Presenters should be available to discuss research with attendees during this time.
  • Dismantle by 4:30 PM **

** Poster displays not dismantled by the appropriate time will be discarded. APSA is not responsible for returning displays left on poster boards.

Please Note
Poster presenters need only be present during the official poster session timeslot. These early set-up times are for the convenience of attendees to make additional time for reviewing the large sessions.
