Founded in 1903, the American Political Science Association is the leading professional organization for the study of political science and serves more than 15,000 members in over 80 countries. With a range of programs and services for individuals, departments and institutions, APSA brings together political scientists from all fields of inquiry, regions, and occupational endeavors within and outside academe in order to expand awareness and understanding of politics.

Human Rights
The Section on Human Rights was established to encourage scholarship and facilitate
exchange of data and research findings on all components of human rights (e.g.,
civil, political, economic, social, cultural, environmental), their relationship,
determinants and consequences of human rights policies, structure and influence
of human rights organizations, development, implementation, and impact on
international conventions, and changes in the international human rights regime.
