Jamel Love - 2015-2016 Minority Fellowship Program
Jamel Love

Jamel Love is Senior Political Science Major and Ronald E. McNair Scholar at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Jamel's undergraduate career is marked by a number of accomplishments. He has received several scholarships and grants towards his research endeavors and he is also the current president of his schools' National Political Honor Society Chapter. Jamel has worked on several research projects, most recently, an exploration of African-American voter turnout, disenfranchisement, and its implications for American democracy. Jamel plans on applying to Doctoral Programs in Political Science where he will concentrate in American Politics with a research interest in political behavior exploring how minority groups come together to engage the political system, as well as what influences them to do so. Jamel's passion for both teaching and research drive his interest to earn his Ph.D. in Political Science where he hopes to promote a greater understanding of minority engagement with governing institutions.
